To reset the tire pressure monitoring system, ensure all tires are inflated to the recommended pressure. Turn the ignition to the "On" position without starting the engine. Press and hold the TPMS reset button (located beneath the steering wheel) until the TPMS light blinks three times. Drive the vehicle for a few minutes to complete the reset process.
The 2014 Nissan Quest requires SAE 5W-30 synthetic oil. The engine oil capacity is approximately 5.1 quarts (4.8 liters) when including the oil filter.
Start by checking the AC fuse and relay in the fuse box. Ensure that the AC compressor is engaging by listening for a clicking sound when the AC is turned on. Check the refrigerant level and refill if necessary. If these steps do not resolve the issue, it may require professional diagnosis for potential compressor or electrical issues.
If the check engine light is on, first check that the gas cap is securely tightened, as a loose cap can trigger the light. If the light remains on, use an OBD-II scanner to read the error codes, which can indicate specific issues. For persistent or unclear problems, consult a professional mechanic.
Open the glove box and remove the dampener cord on the right side. Press in on the sides of the glove box to release it from the dashboard. Locate the cabin air filter cover behind the glove box, remove it, and replace the old filter with a new one. Reassemble in reverse order.
Ensure both vehicles are turned off. Connect the red positive jumper cable to the positive terminal of the dead battery, then to the positive terminal of the donor battery. Connect the black negative cable to the donor battery's negative terminal, and the other end to a grounded metal part of the dead vehicle, away from the battery. Start the donor vehicle, then the Quest. Remove cables in reverse order.
Insert the key into the ignition and turn it to "ACC" without starting the engine. Quickly insert and remove the key from the ignition slot six times within 10 seconds. The hazard lights will flash twice. Insert the key again and turn to "ACC". Press any button on the new key fob. The hazard lights will flash to confirm programming.
Regular maintenance includes oil and filter changes every 5,000 miles, tire rotation every 7,500 miles, cabin and engine air filter replacement every 15,000 miles, brake fluid replacement every 20,000 miles, and transmission fluid change every 30,000 miles. Always refer to the owner's manual for specific guidelines.
To improve fuel efficiency, maintain proper tire pressure, ensure regular engine maintenance, avoid excessive idling, use cruise control on highways, and reduce unnecessary weight in the vehicle.
Open the hood and locate the back of the headlight assembly. Disconnect the power connector from the bulb. Remove the rubber cover and unclip the bulb retainer. Remove the old bulb and replace it with a new one, without touching the glass. Reassemble in reverse order.
