Nissan NSF25B Owner's Manual

Regular maintenance includes checking the oil level, inspecting the fuel system, cleaning the propeller, and flushing the cooling system. It's also important to regularly inspect the spark plugs and replace them as needed.
Check the fuel supply, ensure the battery is charged, and verify that the kill switch is not engaged. Inspect the spark plugs for fouling and replace if necessary.
Ensure the water intake is not blocked and that the impeller is functioning correctly. Check for any leaks in the cooling system and inspect the thermostat for proper operation.
Use a high-quality 4-stroke marine engine oil with the appropriate viscosity as recommended in the user manual.
Drain the fuel or add a fuel stabilizer, change the oil, and flush the cooling system with antifreeze. Remove the battery and store it in a warm place. Protect the engine with a fogging oil spray.
Possible causes include a clogged fuel filter, dirty carburetor, or fouled spark plugs. Additionally, check for any obstructions in the propeller and ensure the air intake is clear.
The impeller should be inspected annually and replaced every 2-3 years, or sooner if you notice any signs of wear or reduced water flow.
Remove the carburetor from the engine and disassemble it. Use a carburetor cleaner spray to clean all parts thoroughly. Ensure all ports and jets are clear before reassembly.
Locate the idle adjustment screw on the carburetor. Turn the screw clockwise to increase the idle speed or counterclockwise to decrease it, adjusting to the desired RPM as specified in the manual.
Regular safety checks should include inspecting the fuel lines for leaks, checking the condition of the propeller, ensuring the throttle and steering are responsive, and verifying that all safety mechanisms are operational.
