Ensure that the fuel tank is filled and the fuel line is connected. Turn the engine switch to the "ON" position, set the choke to the "START" position if the engine is cold, and pull the starter rope firmly. Once the engine starts, gradually adjust the choke to the "RUN" position.
Check if there is sufficient fuel and that the fuel line is not kinked. Ensure the spark plug is clean and properly connected. If the engine is flooded, wait a few minutes before trying again. Also, verify that the kill switch is not engaged.
Change the engine oil every 50 hours of operation or at least once per season, whichever comes first. Always use high-quality, marine-grade oil as recommended in the owner's manual.
Perform regular maintenance every 100 hours or once a year, which includes changing the oil, inspecting and replacing the spark plugs if necessary, checking the propeller, and inspecting the fuel system for leaks or damage.
Regularly check and clean the water intake to ensure proper cooling. Avoid running the engine in shallow water where debris can clog the cooling system. Monitor the temperature gauge and address any abnormalities immediately.
Check if the propeller is damaged or unbalanced. Ensure that the engine is securely mounted to the boat and that all bolts are tightened. Additionally, inspect the shaft and bearings for wear or damage.
Drain the fuel from the system or add a fuel stabilizer to prevent degradation. Change the engine oil and gear oil, and flush the cooling system with fresh water. Store the motor in an upright position in a dry, sheltered area.
Use unleaded gasoline with a minimum octane rating of 87. Avoid using ethanol-blended fuels higher than E10 to prevent damage to the fuel system components.
Inspect the fuel filter for clogs and ensure the fuel lines are not obstructed. Check the air filter and spark plugs for dirt or wear. Also, verify that the throttle cable is properly adjusted and not sticking.
Clean or replace the spark plug and adjust the idle speed as per the manual's recommendations. Check the fuel quality and ensure there are no air leaks in the fuel line. Also, inspect the carburetor for clogs or misadjustment.
