The recommended fuel type for the Nissan NS60B Outboard Motor is unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of 87 or higher.
It is recommended to change the engine oil every 100 hours of operation or at least once per season, whichever comes first.
To winterize your Nissan NS60B, drain the fuel system, change the engine oil, apply fogging oil to the cylinders, and store the motor in a dry place.
First, check the fuel supply and battery charge. Ensure the kill switch is in place and inspect the spark plugs for fouling or wear.
Connect a freshwater hose to the flushing port, start the engine, and let it run for about 10 minutes to thoroughly flush the cooling system.
Visually inspect the propeller for damage such as nicks or bends, ensure it is securely fastened, and check for fishing line or debris wrapped around the shaft.
Check the water intake for obstructions, ensure the cooling system is functioning properly, and replace the impeller if necessary.
Regular maintenance, such as cleaning the carburetor and replacing spark plugs, along with proper propeller selection, can improve fuel efficiency.
Use a high-quality marine-grade gear oil, such as SAE 90, in the lower unit of the Nissan NS60B Outboard Motor.
Keep the battery terminals clean and free of corrosion, regularly charge the battery, and store it in a cool, dry place when not in use.
