Ensure the fuel tank is full and the fuel line is connected securely. Check that the gear is in neutral, then pull the choke out if the engine is cold. Pull the starter rope firmly until the engine starts, then gradually push the choke back in as the engine warms up.
Check the fuel supply and ensure the tank is not empty. Inspect the spark plugs for wear or fouling and replace if necessary. Verify that the kill switch is in the correct position. If the problem persists, consult the service manual or contact a professional technician.
Routine maintenance should be conducted every 100 hours of operation or at least once a year. This includes changing the engine oil, inspecting and replacing spark plugs, checking the fuel system, and cleaning the cooling system.
Use a high-quality, TC-W3 certified 2-stroke outboard motor oil. This ensures optimal performance and longevity for your engine.
Regularly inspect and clean the water intake on the lower unit to prevent blockages. Ensure the cooling system is functioning correctly and replace the impeller every two years. Always operate the motor in water deep enough to cover the water intakes.
Poor performance can be caused by incorrect fuel mixture, dirty carburetor, worn spark plugs, or improper propeller size. Regular inspection and maintenance can help identify and resolve these issues.
Flush the engine with fresh water to remove salt and debris. Add fuel stabilizer to the gas tank, and run the engine to circulate the stabilized fuel. Disconnect the fuel line and run the engine until it stops. Fog the cylinders with storage oil and store the motor in an upright position.
Excessive vibration can be caused by a damaged propeller, misaligned engine mounts, or debris caught in the propeller. Inspect and replace the propeller if necessary and ensure the engine is securely mounted.
Ensure the propeller is the correct size and pitch for the boat. Keep the boat hull clean from algae and barnacles. Maintain a steady speed and avoid rapid acceleration. Regularly service the engine for optimal performance.
Check the fuel level and ensure the vent on the fuel tank is open. Inspect the fuel line for kinks or leaks. Verify the spark plug connection and condition. If the problem continues, consult a professional for further diagnosis.
