Mercedes-Benz recommends using synthetic motor oil with a viscosity of 0W-40 or 5W-40 that meets the MB 229.5 specification for the 2017 S-Class.
To connect your smartphone via Bluetooth, enable Bluetooth on your phone. In the S-Class, select 'Telephone' on the COMAND screen, then 'Connect Device'. Follow the prompts to pair your phone by selecting your device and entering the provided passcode if necessary.
If the tire pressure warning light comes on, check the tire pressures with a gauge and inflate them to the recommended levels found on the driver's side door jamb. If the light stays on after correcting the pressures, consult the owner's manual for recalibration procedures or visit a dealership.
To update the navigation system, visit the official Mercedes-Benz website to check for available updates. You may either download the update to a USB drive or purchase an update DVD. Follow the instructions provided to install the update via the vehicle’s COMAND system.
The recommended tire pressure for the 2017 Mercedes-Benz S-Class varies depending on the load and driving conditions but is generally around 32 PSI for the front tires and 35 PSI for the rear tires. Always refer to the driver's side door jamb for the exact specifications.
First, ensure the vehicle is on a flat surface and apply the parking brake. Locate the spare tire, jack, and lug wrench. Loosen the lug nuts before lifting the car with the jack. Remove the nuts completely, replace the flat tire with the spare, and tighten the nuts in a star pattern before lowering the vehicle.
To replace the key fob battery, locate the release catch on the back of the key and pull out the manual key. Use the end of the key or a small tool to press into the exposed slot and slide out the battery compartment. Replace the old battery with a new CR2025 battery and reassemble.
If the battery is dead, you can jump-start the car using jumper cables and another vehicle. Connect the cables in the correct order: positive to positive, negative on the assisting car, and the other negative to a metal ground on your S-Class. Start the assisting car first, then yours. Consider replacing the battery if issues persist.
Mercedes-Benz typically recommends changing the transmission fluid every 40,000 to 60,000 miles under normal driving conditions. However, it is best to consult your owner’s manual or dealership for specific service intervals for your vehicle.
