To start the McCulloch Supreme 300 T 300 Trimmer, ensure the trimmer is on a flat surface. Set the choke lever to the start position, press the primer bulb several times until fuel is visible, then pull the starter handle until the engine fires. Move the choke to the run position and pull the starter handle again to start the trimmer.
Use a mixture of unleaded gasoline and high-quality 2-stroke engine oil at a ratio of 40:1. Ensure the mixture is well-blended before filling the trimmer's fuel tank.
To replace the trimmer line, turn off the engine and disconnect the spark plug wire. Remove the spool cover, take out the empty spool, and wind new line onto the spool. Reattach the spool and cover, ensuring the line is fed through the eyelets correctly.
If the trimmer line keeps breaking, check for objects that might be obstructing the line, such as rocks or debris. Ensure you are using the correct line size and that the line is wound properly on the spool.
Clean the air filter every 10 hours of operation or more frequently if you operate in dusty conditions. Remove the air filter cover, clean the filter with warm soapy water, rinse, and allow it to dry completely before reinstalling.
If the trimmer won't start, check the fuel level and ensure the fuel is fresh. Inspect the spark plug for wear or carbon build-up and replace if necessary. Verify that the air filter is clean and properly installed.
To adjust the carburetor, locate the adjustment screws on the carburetor body. Use a small screwdriver to turn the screws, adjusting the mixture and idle speed to achieve optimal performance. Refer to the owner's manual for specific adjustment settings.
Regular maintenance includes checking and replacing the spark plug annually, cleaning the air filter regularly, inspecting the fuel system for leaks, and ensuring the trimmer line is in good condition. Regularly check for any loose bolts or screws.
For off-season storage, drain the fuel tank and run the engine until it stops to clear the carburetor. Clean the trimmer thoroughly, inspect for any damages, and store it in a dry, well-ventilated area. Disconnect the spark plug wire to prevent accidental starting.
Excessive vibration may be caused by a damaged or unbalanced cutting attachment. Inspect the trimmer head and replace any damaged parts. Ensure that the trimmer line or blade is installed correctly and is the appropriate size.
