To adjust the suspension, locate the compression and rebound adjusters on the forks and shock absorber. For softer terrain, decrease compression and increase rebound damping. For harder terrain, increase compression and decrease rebound damping. Always refer to the owner’s manual for specific settings.
The recommended maintenance schedule includes regular oil changes every 15 hours of riding, air filter cleaning after every ride, and valve clearance checks every 30 hours. Refer to the service manual for complete details.
If the bike won't start, check the battery charge, ensure the fuel is fresh, inspect the spark plug for wear or fouling, and verify that the kill switch is in the 'run' position. Additional troubleshooting may involve checking the fuel pump and electrical connections.
Use a high-quality, fully synthetic 4-stroke motorcycle oil with a viscosity of 10W-50, ensuring it meets the specifications outlined in the owner’s manual.
To adjust the chain tension, place the motorcycle on a stand, loosen the axle nut, and adjust the chain tensioner bolts equally on both sides until the chain has about 5-7mm of slack. Tighten the axle nut and recheck the tension.
The recommended tire pressure is generally 12-15 psi for off-road use. However, adjust the pressure based on terrain and rider preference for optimal performance.
For winter storage, clean the motorcycle thoroughly, change the oil, fill the fuel tank with stabilized fuel, remove the battery and store it in a cool, dry place, and cover the bike to protect it from dust and moisture.
Adjust the clutch cable tension by loosening the lock nut and turning the adjuster until the desired tension is achieved. Ensure there is a slight amount of free play at the lever for optimal function.
Ensure the radiator is clean and free of obstructions. Consider upgrading to a high-performance radiator cap and using high-quality coolant. Installing aftermarket radiator fans can also improve cooling efficiency.
Common electrical issues include blown fuses, faulty wiring connections, and a weak battery. Inspect and replace any blown fuses, check all wiring for loose connections or damage, and ensure the battery is charged and in good condition.
