The KTM SX 85 2014 is designed to run on high-octane unleaded gasoline with a minimum octane rating of 95 RON.
For optimal performance, it is recommended to change the engine oil every 10 hours of operation or after every race.
The recommended tire pressure for the KTM SX 85 2014 is 1.0 bar (14.5 psi) for the front tire and 1.0 bar (14.5 psi) for the rear tire.
To adjust the suspension, use the adjusting screws on the forks and shock absorber to set the rebound and compression damping according to the owner's manual specifications and your riding conditions.
The chain tension should be adjusted so that there is approximately 10-15 mm (0.4-0.6 inches) of play at the midpoint of the chain.
If the KTM SX 85 2014 is having starting issues, check the spark plug, fuel supply, and ensure that the kill switch is not engaged. Clean or replace the spark plug if necessary.
Regular maintenance tasks include checking and adjusting chain tension, cleaning the air filter, changing the engine oil, checking brake pads and fluid, and inspecting the tires for wear and proper pressure.
Remove the seat to access the air filter, carefully take out the air filter, clean it with a suitable air filter cleaner, dry it, and apply air filter oil before reinstalling.
The KTM SX 85 2014 requires DOT 4 brake fluid for both the front and rear brake systems.
To adjust the clutch lever, use the adjustment screw located on the clutch lever perch to set the lever free play to approximately 3-5 mm (0.12-0.20 inches).
