To perform an oil change, first warm up the engine to help the oil drain smoothly. Remove the skid plate, then unscrew the drain bolt under the engine to let the oil drain into a pan. Replace the drain bolt and remove the oil filter cover to replace the oil filter. Finally, refill the engine with the recommended oil type and quantity.
If the bike won't start, first check the battery and ensure it is charged. Inspect the kill switch to make sure it's in the 'Run' position. Examine the fuel level and confirm the fuel valve is open. If these are all in order, check the spark plug for fouling and replace if necessary.
The air filter should be checked and cleaned after every ride in dusty conditions, and at least every 15 hours of operation in normal conditions. Always ensure the filter is properly oiled before reinstallation.
Use a high-quality ethylene glycol-based coolant specifically designed for aluminum engines. Ensure it is mixed per the manufacturer's recommendations, typically 50% coolant to 50% distilled water.
To adjust the suspension, first determine your riding style and terrain. Use the adjusters on the fork and shock absorber to set the sag, rebound, and compression damping according to the owner's manual or your preference. Always make small adjustments and test the bike before further changes.
The recommended tire pressure can vary depending on the terrain. For general off-road use, a good starting point is 12-14 psi for the front tire and 12-14 psi for the rear. Adjust as necessary for specific conditions or personal preference.
To bleed the brakes, first ensure the reservoir is full with the correct brake fluid. Attach a clear tube to the bleeder valve on the caliper. Pump the brake lever a few times and hold it down, then open the bleeder valve to let out air and fluid. Close the valve and release the lever. Repeat until no air bubbles are visible and the lever feels firm.
Refer to the service manual for exact specifications, but generally, engine mount bolts should be torqued to 40 Nm (29.5 ft-lb). Always use a calibrated torque wrench to ensure accuracy.
To prevent overheating, ensure the cooling system is clean and filled with the proper coolant. Check that the radiator fins are unobstructed and the fan is functioning. Monitor engine rpm to avoid prolonged idling and excessive high-speed riding. Consider using a higher capacity radiator or auxiliary fan if overheating persists.
The correct chain tension is 55-58 mm of slack at the tightest point of the chain when measured from the top of the swingarm. Always check the tension with the bike on a stand and adjust using the axle adjusters, ensuring the rear wheel remains aligned.
