To change the oil, warm up the engine, remove the skid plate, drain the oil from the drain plug, replace the oil filter, and refill with the recommended oil type. Ensure you follow the torque specifications for the drain plug and oil filter cover.
The recommended tire pressure is 12 psi for the front tire and 12 psi for the rear tire, but adjustments might be necessary based on terrain and riding conditions.
Check the battery charge, inspect the spark plug for fouling, ensure fuel is reaching the engine, and verify that the kill switch and kickstand sensor are functioning properly.
Regular maintenance includes changing the oil and filter, cleaning the air filter, checking and adjusting valve clearance, inspecting the brakes, and ensuring the chain is properly lubricated and tensioned.
To adjust the chain tension, place the bike on a stand, loosen the rear axle nut, adjust the chain adjuster bolts equally on both sides, and ensure the correct slack before tightening the axle nut.
The recommended fuel type is unleaded gasoline with a minimum octane rating of 95 RON.
The air filter should be cleaned every 10-15 hours of riding, or more frequently if riding in dusty conditions. Ensure it is properly oiled before reinstalling.
If the bike overheats, stop riding and allow it to cool down. Check the coolant level, inspect for leaks, and ensure the radiator is not clogged. Consider checking the fan operation and thermostat if the problem persists.
To check and adjust valve clearance, remove the valve cover, rotate the engine to TDC on the compression stroke, measure the clearance with a feeler gauge, and adjust as necessary by replacing shims.
Use a high-quality ethylene glycol-based coolant specifically formulated for aluminum engines. Ensure it is mixed with distilled water in a 50/50 ratio unless specified otherwise by the manufacturer.
