Kohler recommends using SAE 30 oil for temperatures above 32°F (0°C) and 10W-30 for temperatures below 32°F (0°C) to ensure optimal performance.
It is recommended to change the oil after the first 5 hours of operation and then every 25 hours of use or annually, whichever comes first.
The spark plug gap for the Kohler K532 engine should be set to 0.035 inches (0.89 mm).
Check for fuel supply, ensure the spark plug is clean and properly gapped, inspect for clogged air filters, and verify that the battery is fully charged.
Regular maintenance includes changing the oil, cleaning or replacing the air filter, checking and replacing the spark plug, and inspecting the fuel system for leaks or blockages.
Ensure the air filter is clean, use the correct oil type, keep the carburetor properly adjusted, and maintain regular service intervals.
Possible causes include a clogged cooling fin, low oil level, dirty air filter, or incorrect carburetor settings.
To store the engine for winter, drain the fuel system, change the oil, remove and clean the spark plug, and store in a dry, protected area.
To adjust the carburetor, start the engine and let it warm up. Adjust the idle speed screw to 1200 RPM, then adjust the main mixture screw for smooth operation.
Black smoke usually indicates a rich fuel mixture. Check and adjust the carburetor settings and ensure the air filter is clean.
