To adjust the temperature, locate the control panel inside your refrigerator. Use the up and down arrows to set the desired temperature for both the refrigerator and the freezer compartments.
First, ensure the refrigerator is level. Check for items inside that may be vibrating against each other. If the noise persists, inspect the condenser fan and evaporator fan for obstructions.
It is recommended to clean the condenser coils every 6 months to maintain optimal performance. Use a vacuum cleaner or a coil brush to remove dust and debris.
Water pooling can be caused by a blocked defrost drain. Check the drain for clogs and clear it using warm water to ensure proper drainage.
Locate the water filter compartment, usually inside the refrigerator near the top right corner. Turn the old filter counterclockwise to remove it, then insert the new filter and turn it clockwise until it clicks into place.
Check that the ice maker is turned on and the water supply is connected. Ensure the freezer temperature is set correctly, and inspect the ice maker for blockages or ice jams.
Keep the refrigerator and freezer doors closed as much as possible, ensure proper seal on the doors, and maintain the recommended temperature settings to optimize energy efficiency.
Check if the vents inside the refrigerator are blocked by food items, ensure the door seals are intact, and verify that the temperature settings are correct. Inspect the condenser coils for dust buildup.
Most modern KitchenAid refrigerators are frost-free, but if you notice frost buildup, you should manually defrost the unit. Typically, this should not be necessary unless there is a problem with the defrost system.
Use a mixture of mild dish soap and warm water. Remove all food items, shelves, and drawers, then wipe down all surfaces with the solution. Rinse with clean water and dry with a soft cloth.
