During the first 500 miles, avoid full throttle starts and aggressive acceleration. Gradually increase the engine speed and avoid prolonged idling.
It is recommended to change the oil every 5,000 miles or 6 months, whichever comes first. Use the manufacturer-recommended oil type and viscosity.
Check the battery connections and ensure they are tight. Verify the kill switch is in the 'run' position, and check the fuel level and fuel valve.
Maintain proper tire pressure, perform regular maintenance, and avoid aggressive riding. Use the recommended fuel grade for optimal performance.
The recommended tire pressure is typically 36 PSI for the front tire and 40 PSI for the rear tire, but always check the owner's manual for confirmation.
The Scout Sixty features preload-adjustable rear shocks. Use the shock adjustment tool provided in the tool kit to adjust according to rider weight and preference.
Verify tire pressure and tread, check fluid levels (oil, brake, coolant), test lights and signals, and inspect the brakes and drive belt for wear.
Inspect the fuse box for blown fuses, check battery voltage, and examine wiring for any loose connections or corrosion.
Always use a high-quality ethylene glycol-based coolant that is specifically formulated for aluminum engines.
Brake pads should be inspected regularly and replaced when the pad material is worn down to about 1/8 inch (3 mm) to ensure safe braking performance.
