To reset the dishwasher, turn off the machine by pressing the power button. Wait for a few minutes, then turn it back on. If the problem persists, unplug the dishwasher for about 10 minutes before plugging it back in.
Flashing lights usually indicate a problem with the door latch or a blocked filter. Ensure the door is properly closed and latched. Check and clean the filter and make sure the water supply is turned on.
The filter should be cleaned every month to prevent clogs and ensure efficient performance. Remove the filter from the base of the dishwasher, rinse it under running water, and use a brush to remove any stubborn debris.
Ensure that the rinse aid dispenser is filled, as rinse aid helps with the drying process. Check that the selected wash program includes a drying cycle. Additionally, avoid overloading the dishwasher, which can prevent proper air circulation.
Check the door gasket for any signs of damage and replace if necessary. Ensure that the dishwasher is level and that the spray arms are not blocked. Also, make sure that the detergent is suitable for dishwashers and not overfilled.
Place larger items like pots and pans at the sides or back to avoid blocking the spray arms. Load plates and bowls facing inward and downward. Ensure that cutlery is placed in the basket with handles down, and avoid nesting items.
Regularly clean the filter and spray arms to prevent clogs. Check and clean the door seal to avoid leaks. Run an empty cycle with a dishwasher cleaner monthly to remove limescale and grease.
Scrape off food residues before loading dishes. Use the appropriate amount of detergent, and ensure the water temperature is at least 120°F (49°C) for optimal cleaning. Select the correct wash program based on the load type and soil level.
Unusual noises might be due to items touching the spray arms. Ensure that dishes are loaded properly and not blocking the arms. Check for any loose or foreign objects inside the appliance, such as utensils that may have fallen out of the basket.
Remove the spray arms by unscrewing or unclipping them, depending on the model. Rinse them under running water and use a toothpick or a small brush to clear any blocked holes. Reattach them securely before using the dishwasher again.
