The recommended maintenance schedule includes checking the oil and filters before each use, inspecting blades, belts, and the air filter every 25 hours, and changing the oil and filters every 50 hours. Regularly inspect the tires and battery, and perform a comprehensive check every 100 hours.
Ensure the battery is fully charged, the fuel tank has fresh gasoline, and all safety switches are engaged. Check the spark plugs for wear and clean or replace them if necessary. Verify that the air filter is clean and free of debris.
Use SAE 10W-30 oil for optimal performance in varying temperatures. For temperatures consistently above 32°F (0°C), SAE 30 oil can also be used. Ensure the oil is API classified for service SJ or higher.
To adjust the cutting height, use the deck lift lever located beside the seat. Move the lever to select the desired cutting height, which ranges from 1.5 to 4.5 inches. Ensure the mower is on a level surface before adjusting.
Uneven cuts can be caused by a dull or damaged blade, incorrect tire pressure, or an improperly leveled deck. Sharpen or replace the blade, check tire pressure, and adjust the deck leveling if necessary.
Check the PTO switch to ensure it's functioning correctly. Inspect the drive belt for wear or damage and replace it if necessary. Verify that the safety interlock system is not preventing blade engagement.
Maintain a clean air filter, ensure tire pressure is at recommended levels, and perform regular engine tune-ups. Avoid cutting wet grass and reduce engine speed when not required for cutting.
Clean the mower thoroughly to remove grass and debris. Change the oil and air filter, and add a fuel stabilizer to the fuel tank. Store the mower in a dry, covered area, and disconnect the battery to prevent drainage.
First, ensure the mower is off and the key is removed. Remove the deck belt guards and release the idler tension. Remove the old belt and install the new one by following the belt routing diagram located on the mower deck. Re-tension the idler and replace the belt guards.
Excessive vibration can be caused by unbalanced blades or loose hardware. Check that the blades are properly balanced and securely attached. Inspect the mower deck and engine mounts for any loose bolts or connections.
