To start the Husqvarna TC 238, ensure the parking brake is engaged, the PTO switch is disengaged, the throttle is in the choke position, and turn the ignition key to the start position. Once the engine starts, move the throttle to the fast position.
Use unleaded gasoline with a minimum octane rating of 87. Avoid ethanol blends higher than 10% as they can damage the engine.
Change the oil after the first 5 hours of use, then every 50 hours of operation or once per season, whichever comes first.
Check the fuel level, ensure the spark plug is functioning, verify that the air filter is clean, and make sure the battery is charged. Also, ensure the safety switches are engaged properly.
Inspect the blades regularly for damage and sharpen them every 25 hours of use or as needed. Replace the blades if they are bent or excessively worn.
The recommended tire pressure is 15 psi for the front tires and 10 psi for the rear tires. Regularly check and adjust to maintain these pressures.
Remove the air filter cover, take out the filter, and clean it with compressed air or wash it with soap and water if it's a reusable type. Ensure it is completely dry before reinstalling.
Check for damaged or unbalanced blades, loose engine mounting bolts, and ensure all belts are properly adjusted and not worn.
Use the lever located on the fender to adjust the cutting height. Move the lever to the desired position to set the height from 1.5 to 4 inches.
Clean the mower thoroughly, change the oil, remove the battery and store it in a cool dry place, and add a fuel stabilizer to the gas tank. Store the mower in a dry, sheltered area.
