To start the mower, ensure the parking brake is engaged, the blades are disengaged, and the throttle is set to the choke position. Turn the ignition key to the start position and release once the engine starts.
Regular maintenance includes checking the oil before each use, sharpening or replacing blades as needed, cleaning the deck after each use, and replacing the air filter every 25 hours of operation.
Check the fuel level, ensure the battery is fully charged, inspect the spark plug for wear or damage, and verify that the safety switches are functioning properly.
Locate the cutting height lever on the mower's side and move it to the desired position. The mower offers multiple height settings ranging from 1.5 to 4 inches.
Excessive vibration may be caused by unbalanced or damaged blades. Check for debris lodged in the mower deck and ensure that the blades are properly balanced and secured.
To change the oil, run the engine for a few minutes to warm it up. Turn off the engine, remove the oil drain plug, and allow the old oil to drain completely. Replace the drain plug and refill with new oil according to the manual's specifications.
Use unleaded gasoline with a minimum octane rating of 87 and a maximum ethanol content of 10%. Avoid using gasoline with methanol content.
Locate the air filter cover, remove it, and take out the old filter. Insert the new filter, ensuring it fits snugly, and replace the cover.
If the blades do not engage, check the blade engagement lever or switch, inspect the belt for wear or damage, and ensure the PTO clutch is functioning correctly.
To winterize, clean the mower thoroughly, change the oil, drain or stabilize the fuel, remove the battery and store it in a cool, dry place, and cover the mower to protect it from dust and moisture.
