It is recommended to use a 20% nitro fuel mixture for optimal performance and engine longevity.
To break in the engine, run the car at low speeds with a rich fuel setting for the first few tanks, gradually leaning out the mixture as you proceed.
Post-run maintenance includes cleaning the chassis, checking for loose screws, and applying after-run oil to the engine to prevent corrosion.
Check the glow plug, fuel lines, and carburetor settings. Ensure the engine is primed and the glow starter is fully charged.
Overheating can be caused by a lean fuel mixture. Adjust the high-speed needle to enrich the mixture and ensure proper cooling airflow.
Start with the manufacturer's base settings, adjust the high-speed needle for top speed, and fine-tune the low-speed needle for smooth idle and acceleration.
Replace the glow plug every 3-5 gallons of fuel or when you notice starting issues or decreased performance.
Signs include slippage, reduced acceleration, and a burning smell. Inspect the clutch shoes and spring for wear and replace if necessary.
Adjust the suspension settings, use tires appropriate for the terrain, and ensure that the chassis is balanced and aligned.
Check the transmission for damage, ensure the shift point is correctly set, and adjust the shift screw according to the manual.
