To break in the engine, start by running the engine at a rich setting for the first few tanks of fuel. Avoid full throttle and instead vary the throttle position to allow different RPMs. Gradually lean the fuel mixture as you go through the break-in process.
Use 20% nitro fuel with a blend of synthetic and castor oil for optimal performance and engine longevity.
Start by setting the high-speed needle and low-speed needle to the factory settings. Gradually adjust the high-speed needle while the vehicle is at full throttle for maximum RPM, then adjust the low-speed needle for smooth acceleration.
Check for fuel flow to the carburetor and ensure the glow plug is glowing brightly. Verify that the engine is not flooded and that the starter battery is fully charged.
Clean the air filter regularly by washing it in warm soapy water, rinsing thoroughly, and allowing it to dry. Re-oil the filter lightly before reinstalling it to ensure proper filtration.
Ensure that the transmitter and receiver batteries are fully charged. Check for any loose or damaged antenna connections, and make sure the transmitter and receiver are on the same frequency.
Replace the glow plug if the engine becomes difficult to start, if there is a noticeable drop in performance, or after every few gallons of fuel as part of regular maintenance.
After use, clean the vehicle thoroughly to remove dirt and residue. Empty the fuel tank and run the engine dry to prevent fuel gumming. Store the vehicle in a cool, dry place.
Adjust the shock preload by changing the spacers, and consider using different shock oils or springs based on the terrain and driving style.
Regularly check and tighten all screws and nuts, inspect the drivetrain for wear, clean and oil the air filter, and ensure the tires are in good condition with adequate tread.
