GE PSS93 PSS93BPTS Owner's Manual

To perform a self-clean cycle, remove all racks and utensils from the oven. Close the oven door, press the 'Self Clean' button, and select the desired cleaning duration (usually 3, 4, or 5 hours). Press 'Start' to begin the cycle. The oven door will lock automatically and will unlock once the cycle is complete and the oven has cooled down.
Ensure that the oven is properly plugged in and that the circuit breaker is not tripped. Check if the oven settings are correct and make sure that the door is completely closed. If the problem persists, it may require calibration or a service technician to inspect heating elements or other components.
First, disconnect the power to the range by unplugging it or turning off the circuit breaker. Locate the oven light cover inside the oven and turn it counterclockwise to remove it. Carefully unscrew the old bulb and replace it with a new one of the same type and wattage. Reattach the light cover and restore power to the range.
Allow the cooktop to cool completely. Use a damp cloth or sponge with mild dish soap to wipe down the surface. For stubborn stains, use a cooktop cleaner and a non-abrasive scrubbing pad. Rinse and dry the cooktop thoroughly to prevent streaks or water spots.
Press the 'Set Clock' or 'Clock' button on the control panel. Use the '+' or '-' buttons to adjust the time. Once the correct time is displayed, press 'Start' or 'Clock' again to save the settings.
Ensure that the range is properly connected to power and that the circuit breaker is not tripped. Attempt to reset the control panel by turning off the range for a few minutes and then turning it back on. If the issue persists, a service technician may need to inspect the control board or touchpad.
Use cookware with smooth, flat bottoms and avoid sliding pots and pans across the surface. Clean spills promptly and avoid using abrasive cleaning pads or tools. Consider using a cooktop protector mat when the range is not in use.
Remove the racks from the oven and soak them in warm, soapy water. Use a non-abrasive scrubber to remove any food particles or grease. Rinse thoroughly and dry before placing them back in the oven. Alternatively, dishwasher-safe racks can be cleaned in a dishwasher.
Refer to the user manual for a list of error codes and their meanings. Common solutions include resetting the range by unplugging it for a few minutes, checking for obstructions in the door, and ensuring the control panel is clean and dry. If an error persists, contact GE Customer Service for assistance.
Regular maintenance should include cleaning the cooktop and oven after use, inspecting and cleaning the oven door gasket monthly, and replacing oven light bulbs as needed. A professional inspection and service are recommended annually to ensure optimal performance.
