To perform a self-cleaning cycle, remove all oven racks and any cookware. Close the oven door and press the 'Self Clean' button. Select the desired cleaning time and press 'Start'. The door will lock automatically, and the cleaning process will begin.
Check if the oven is properly connected to the power supply. Ensure that the circuit breaker is not tripped. If the oven still doesn't heat, the heating element might need to be replaced or you may need to contact GE service support.
To calibrate the oven temperature, press the 'Bake' button and then the '1' button to increase or '2' to decrease the temperature. Adjust in 1-degree increments until reaching the desired calibration. Press 'Start' to save the settings.
A burning smell is normal during the first few uses. It's caused by the burning off of manufacturing residues. To minimize the smell, run a self-cleaning cycle or operate the oven at a high temperature for an hour with good ventilation.
Ensure the oven is off and cool. Remove the light cover located at the rear of the oven by turning it counterclockwise. Replace the bulb with a new 40-watt appliance bulb and reinstall the cover.
Regularly clean the oven interior and racks, check and clean the cooktop surface, and inspect the power cord for any signs of wear. Additionally, ensure the control panel is clean and free of debris.
To prevent spills from smoking, use an oven liner or place a baking sheet on a lower rack to catch drips. Clean spills promptly using a damp cloth once the oven has cooled.
Check for any obstructions such as food debris around the door seal. Inspect the door hinges for damage and ensure they are properly aligned. If issues persist, a professional repair may be needed.
To lock the control panel, press and hold the 'Control Lock' button for three seconds. The control panel will be locked, preventing any unintended operation. Repeat the process to unlock.
First, try resetting the range by turning off the circuit breaker for 30 seconds. If the touchpad still doesn't respond, inspect for any visible damage or moisture, and contact GE customer support for further assistance.
