To perform a self-clean cycle, remove all racks and accessories from the oven. Close the oven door and turn the function knob to the "Self-Clean" position. Select the desired cleaning time, usually between 3 and 5 hours, using the control panel. Press "Start" to begin the cycle.
First, check if the oven is properly plugged in and if the circuit breaker has not tripped. Ensure that the oven controls are set correctly. If the issue persists, it may require a service call to inspect the heating elements or other internal components.
Use a cooktop cleaner and a non-abrasive cloth or sponge. Apply the cleaner to the cool surface and gently scrub any stains or spills. Avoid using steel wool or abrasive pads as they can scratch the surface.
Ensure the oven is turned off and cool. Open the oven door and locate the light cover inside the oven. Turn the cover counterclockwise to remove it. Replace the bulb with a new one of the same type and wattage. Reattach the cover by turning it clockwise.
Press the "Bake" button and enter 350°F, then press "Start." After the oven reaches temperature, press and hold the "Bake" button for several seconds until the display shows "00." Use the number pad to adjust the temperature up or down, then press "Start" to save the setting.
Error codes indicate specific issues. Refer to the user manual for code definitions. Common fixes include resetting the oven by unplugging it for a few minutes or checking connections. If the error persists, contact GE customer support for assistance.
Regularly clean the oven and cooktop surfaces. Check and clean the oven door gasket to ensure a proper seal. Inspect and clean the range hood filter. Additionally, schedule periodic professional maintenance for optimal performance.
Press the "Clock" button, then use the number pad to enter the current time. Confirm the time by pressing the "Start" or "Clock" button again. Ensure the oven is not in use while setting the clock.
Inspect the door seal for any debris or damage. Check if the hinges are misaligned and adjust them as needed. If the door still won't close, a hinge replacement or professional repair may be required.
Aluminum foil can be used to catch drips or cover dishes. However, do not line the oven bottom as it can affect heat distribution. Ensure foil does not touch heating elements or sides to avoid fire hazards.
