To perform a self-clean cycle, remove all racks and cookware from the oven. Close the door and select the 'Self Clean' option on the control panel. Use the arrow keys to choose the desired clean time, then press 'Start'. The door will lock automatically and the cycle will begin.
If the oven is not heating, first check that it is properly plugged in. Ensure the circuit breaker is not tripped. If both are in order, try resetting the oven by turning it off at the breaker for a few minutes before turning it back on. If the problem persists, contact GE support.
Inspect the oven door gasket for any debris or damage. Clean with a soft cloth and mild soap if necessary. Ensure that the hinges are not bent or misaligned. If the door still does not close properly, consult a professional technician.
Allow the cooktop to cool completely. Use a soft cloth or sponge with soapy water to clean the surface. For stubborn stains, use a cooktop cleaning cream and a non-abrasive pad. Avoid using steel wool or abrasive cleaners.
Ensure the oven is off and cool. Remove the light cover by turning it counterclockwise. Unscrew the old bulb and replace it with a new 40-watt appliance bulb. Replace the cover and ensure it is secured tightly.
It is normal for new ovens to emit odors from the insulation and heating elements when used for the first time. To minimize this, run the oven at 400°F for an hour with the windows open to ventilate the kitchen.
Press the 'Bake' button and set the oven to 350°F. Press 'Start'. After it preheats, check the temperature with an oven thermometer. If adjustment is needed, press 'Bake' and 'Broil Hi/Lo' simultaneously for 2 seconds, then adjust using the arrow keys.
Regularly clean the oven and cooktop to prevent buildup of grease and food residue. Check the oven door gasket for integrity, and inspect burners for clogs. Perform a self-clean cycle monthly if frequently used.
To lock the oven controls, press and hold the 'Lock Controls' button for 3 seconds. A lock icon will appear on the display. To unlock, press and hold the same button again for 3 seconds.
Refer to the user manual to identify the error code. Most codes indicate a specific issue, such as a faulty sensor or a communication error. Try resetting the oven by turning off the circuit breaker for a few minutes. If the error persists, contact customer support.
