Ford recommends using 5W-20 engine oil for the 2003 Ford Escape for optimal performance and efficiency.
Start by checking the A/C fuse in the fuse box. If the fuse is intact, examine the refrigerant levels and recharge if necessary. Also, inspect the A/C compressor for any signs of damage or malfunction.
The towing capacity of the 2003 Ford Escape is up to 3,500 pounds when properly equipped with the optional towing package.
Locate the cabin air filter housing under the dashboard on the passenger side. Remove the screws or clips securing the housing cover, then slide out the old filter. Insert the new filter and reattach the cover.
Rough idling could be caused by dirty fuel injectors, a clogged air filter, or faulty spark plugs. Inspect and clean or replace these components as necessary.
Warm up the engine and ensure the vehicle is on a level surface. With the engine idling, pull out the transmission dipstick, wipe it clean, reinsert it, and then remove it again to check the fluid level. It should be between the "Full" and "Add" marks.
Common causes include a loose gas cap, faulty oxygen sensor, or a malfunctioning catalytic converter. Use an OBD-II scanner to retrieve the error codes for a precise diagnosis.
Ensure regular maintenance such as oil changes and air filter replacements. Keep tires properly inflated, drive at a steady speed, and avoid rapid acceleration and heavy braking.
Brake noise can be caused by worn brake pads, warped rotors, or debris caught in the brake components. Inspect and replace any worn parts and clean the brake system thoroughly.
