To install the First Alert SA305, first choose an optimal location on your ceiling or wall. Use the mounting bracket to mark drill holes, then drill the holes and insert the provided anchors. Attach the bracket with screws, connect the battery, and twist the alarm onto the bracket until it locks.
The First Alert SA305 smoke alarm uses a 9-volt battery. It is recommended to replace the battery at least once a year to ensure optimal performance.
To test the First Alert SA305, press and hold the test button on the alarm. The alarm should sound a loud, continuous siren. If it does not, check the battery and connections.
Clean the First Alert SA305 alarm at least once a month to ensure it remains free of dust and debris. Use a vacuum with a soft brush attachment or compressed air to gently remove any particles.
