For optimal performance, it is recommended to use needle type DBx1, size 90/14 for medium-weight fabrics.
Check if the needle is correctly installed and not bent. Ensure the needle size is appropriate for the fabric. Also, verify the tension settings are correctly adjusted.
Regularly clean the machine to remove lint and debris. Lubricate the moving parts as per the user manual's instructions and check for any loose screws or parts.
To adjust the thread tension, use the tension dial located on the machine. Turn it clockwise to increase tension and counterclockwise to decrease it. Test on a scrap piece of fabric to achieve the desired stitch quality.
Unusual noises may be due to a lack of lubrication or debris in the machine. Ensure the machine is properly oiled and cleaned. Also, check for any loose screws or parts.
Open the bobbin case, remove the empty bobbin, and insert a new, wound bobbin. Ensure that the bobbin thread is properly threaded through the tension spring.
Ensure that the needle is correctly installed and not damaged. Re-thread the machine and check that the bobbin is correctly placed in the bobbin case. Adjust the needle height if necessary.
Use a heavy-duty needle and appropriate thread. Adjust the presser foot pressure and thread tension to match the fabric's thickness. Consider using a walking foot for better fabric handling.
Puckering can occur if the thread tension is too high, the needle is too large for the fabric, or if the feed dogs are not properly adjusted. Ensure the fabric is not being pulled while sewing.
It is recommended to have the machine professionally serviced at least once a year, or more frequently if it is used heavily, to maintain optimal performance and prevent potential issues.
