To adjust the thread tension, locate the tension discs on the machine. Turn the tension dial clockwise to increase tension and counterclockwise to decrease it. Test the tension on a scrap piece of fabric to ensure proper stitching.
First, check if the needle is correctly inserted and not bent. Ensure that the needle is compatible with the fabric and thread. Re-thread the machine, making sure the thread passes through all guides. If the issue persists, inspect the bobbin for any tangles.
Regular maintenance includes cleaning the bobbin case and feed dogs with a soft brush to remove lint and dust. Oil the machine following the manufacturer's guidelines, ensuring moving parts are lubricated. Always unplug the machine before cleaning.
Check if the feed dogs are engaged and not lowered. Ensure the presser foot is down and applying adequate pressure on the fabric. Verify that the stitch length is set appropriately for the fabric type.
Noises can often be reduced by cleaning the machine and oiling the moving parts. Check for any loose screws or parts. If the noise persists, consult the manual for further troubleshooting tips or contact a professional technician.
For heavy fabrics, use a needle size of 16/100 or 18/110. This will ensure the needle can penetrate the fabric without breaking and provide strong, even stitches.
Raise the presser foot lever and loosen the screw holding the current foot in place. Remove the old foot and position the new presser foot under the holder. Tighten the screw securely to attach the new foot.
Ensure you are using the correct needle type and size for your fabric. Check that the needle is installed correctly and not bent. Avoid pulling the fabric while sewing, as this can cause the needle to snap.
Make sure the machine is threaded correctly, and the bobbin is wound evenly. Adjust the upper thread tension and check that the bobbin tension is properly set. Also, ensure the presser foot is down while sewing.
First, check if the power cord is securely plugged in and the outlet is functioning. Ensure the on/off switch is in the "on" position. Inspect the fuse or circuit breaker if applicable. If the machine still won't turn on, consult a technician.
