Dürkopp Adler 195 Service Manual

To thread the Dürkopp Adler 195, first raise the presser foot to release the tension discs. Insert the thread into the spool pin and guide it through the thread guide, tension assembly, and take-up lever following the threading path indicated on the machine. Finally, thread the needle from front to back.
If the machine is skipping stitches, check to ensure the needle is not bent or dull, and replace it if necessary. Verify that the needle is correctly installed with the flat side facing the correct direction. Also, rethread the machine to ensure proper threading.
Adjust the tension by turning the tension dial located on the front of the machine. Clockwise increases tension, while counterclockwise decreases it. Test on a scrap piece of fabric and adjust until the stitches appear balanced.
Regularly clean the machine by removing lint and dust from the bobbin area and feed dogs. Oil the machine according to the manufacturer's guidelines, focusing on the moving parts, and have it serviced annually by a professional technician.
Ensure the presser foot is lowered and the feed dogs are engaged. Check if there is lint or debris obstructing the feed dogs. Also, verify that the stitch length is set appropriately for the type of fabric being sewn.
If the machine is noisy, check for any loose screws and tighten them. Clean the machine to remove any lint or debris. Oil the moving parts as per the manual. If the noise persists, consult a professional technician.
For heavy fabrics, use a needle size of 16/100 or 18/110. Ensure the needle is sharp and in good condition to handle the thickness of the material.
Turn off the machine. Loosen the needle clamp screw and remove the old needle. Insert a new needle with the flat side facing the correct direction and push it up as far as it will go. Tighten the needle clamp screw securely.
Check the power supply and ensure the machine is plugged in and the power switch is turned on. Inspect the foot pedal connection. If the machine still won't start, examine the fuse and replace it if blown.
To prevent thread breakage, use high-quality thread appropriate for the fabric. Ensure the machine is threaded correctly and the tension is not too tight. Also, check the needle for damage and replace it if necessary.
