Ensure the air control is fully open. Place firelighters and kindling wood in the stove, light the firelighters, and gradually add larger logs once the kindling is burning well.
Perform regular cleaning of the stove's interior, inspect the gaskets for wear, clean the glass with a stove glass cleaner, and check the chimney annually.
Check the chimney for blockages, ensure there is no negative air pressure in the room, and confirm that the air vents are not obstructed.
Ensure the air control is not closed too tightly, use well-seasoned wood, and clean out any excess ash that may be restricting airflow.
It is recommended to have the chimney cleaned at least once a year, or more frequently if the stove is used heavily.
Use well-seasoned hardwood logs with a moisture content of less than 20% for optimal performance and efficiency.
This can occur if the wood is too damp, the air vents are not set correctly, or the fuel load is too large, restricting airflow.
Ensure that the stove is properly sealed, burn only seasoned wood, and adjust the air intake to maintain a hot, clean-burning fire.
Keep combustible materials away from the stove, use a fire guard if children or pets are present, and ensure the room is well-ventilated.
Remove the door from the stove, unscrew the retaining clips, carefully replace the glass, and reattach the clips and door.
