To perform a factory reset on your Denon AVR-791, turn off the receiver. Hold down the "Tuner Preset CH+" and "Tuner Preset CH-" buttons on the front panel simultaneously, then press the "Power" button. The display will flash "Initialized" to confirm the reset.
Check if the receiver is set to the correct input source and that the mute function is not activated. Ensure all speaker connections are secure. If using HDMI, verify that the cables are properly connected and compatible. Additionally, check the speaker settings menu to confirm correct configuration.
The Denon AVR-791 does not support network-based firmware updates. To update the firmware, contact Denon support for guidance on whether a firmware update is available and how it can be installed via USB or other means.
Ensure there is adequate ventilation around the receiver and that it's not placed in a confined space. Check that the vents are not obstructed by dust or debris. If necessary, use an external cooling fan to improve airflow.
The Denon AVR-791 does not have built-in Bluetooth. However, you can connect a Bluetooth adapter to one of the audio inputs on the receiver to enable wireless streaming from Bluetooth devices.
Use the Audyssey MultEQ auto-calibration feature available in the setup menu. Connect the included microphone to the receiver, place it at your listening position, and follow the on-screen instructions to optimize speaker settings.
Ensure all HDMI cables are securely connected and compatible with the devices in use. Try power cycling the receiver and connected devices. Updating the firmware of connected devices may also help resolve handshake issues.
Regularly dust the exterior and ensure the vents are clear from debris. Avoid placing the receiver in direct sunlight or near heat sources. Perform a system reset occasionally to clear temporary settings that might affect performance.
Connect speakers for the second zone to the "Zone 2" speaker terminals. Use the setup menu to configure Zone 2 audio settings. You can control the second zone using the remote or through the receiver's front panel.
Check if HDMI-CEC (Consumer Electronics Control) is enabled, as it can cause the receiver to switch inputs automatically. Disable HDMI-CEC in the setup menu if unnecessary. Also, inspect the remote control for stuck buttons or interference.
