To perform a factory reset, restart your laptop and press F8 repeatedly until the Advanced Boot Options menu appears. Select 'Repair Your Computer', then choose 'Dell Factory Image Restore' and follow the on-screen instructions.
First, ensure that the power adapter is connected properly and try a different power outlet. If the laptop still won't turn on, remove the battery, press and hold the power button for 15 seconds, reconnect the battery, and try turning it on again.
To improve battery life, reduce screen brightness, close unnecessary applications, disable Bluetooth and Wi-Fi when not in use, and switch to power-saving mode in the power settings.
First, power off the laptop and disconnect all cables. Remove the battery, unscrew the back panel, and locate the RAM slot. Carefully remove the existing RAM module and insert the new one, ensuring it clicks into place. Reassemble the laptop.
Click on the network icon in the system tray, select your wireless network from the list, and click 'Connect'. Enter the network password if prompted, and click 'OK' to connect.
Ensure the touchpad isn't disabled by pressing the function key combination (usually Fn + F3 or similar). If that doesn't work, update or reinstall the touchpad driver through Device Manager.
Turn off the laptop, unplug it, and remove the battery. Unscrew the back panel to access the fan. Use compressed air to blow out any dust from the fan and vents, then reassemble the laptop.
Ensure that the laptop is on a hard, flat surface to allow proper ventilation. Clean the air vents and fan using compressed air. Consider using a cooling pad for additional airflow.
Visit the Dell Support website, enter your laptop's service tag, and download the latest BIOS update file. Run the file and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the update process.
Use an external hard drive or cloud storage service. You can also use Windows Backup and Restore by going to Control Panel > System and Security > Backup and Restore and following the prompts.
