Regular maintenance includes checking and changing the oil, cleaning or replacing the air filter, inspecting the belts for wear, checking tire pressure, and ensuring that the battery is charged. Refer to the manual for specific intervals and procedures.
First, check the battery and connections. Ensure the fuel level is adequate and that the fuel is fresh. Inspect the spark plug for signs of wear or damage and replace it if necessary. Also, check the safety switches and fuses.
Ensure that the blades are sharpened and balanced. Check the tire pressures to ensure they are equal. Inspect the deck for any obstructions or damage, and adjust the deck height for even cutting.
First, disconnect the spark plug for safety. Lift the tractor and secure it. Remove the deck and unbolt the blades. Replace with new blades, ensuring they are installed correctly with the cutting edge facing the right direction. Reassemble all parts securely.
Locate the height adjustment lever on the side of the tractor. Adjust the lever to the desired cutting height position, ensuring it clicks into place securely. Check that the deck is level and adjusted evenly.
Inspect the radiator and cooling fins for blockages and clean them if necessary. Check the coolant level and top up if needed. Ensure that the fan is operating correctly. If the problem persists, consult a professional.
Ensure the tractor is at a complete stop. Locate the PTO switch or lever, usually found near the operator's seat. Engage the PTO by pulling or flipping the switch/lever to the "on" position.
Excessive vibration can be caused by unbalanced or damaged blades, loose bolts, or worn belts. Inspect these areas and tighten or replace components as necessary.
Clean the tractor thoroughly, removing all grass and debris. Change the oil and check all fluids. Store the battery in a warm, dry place. Protect the tractor with a cover and store it in a dry, sheltered location.
Inspect the belt for signs of wear or damage, and replace if necessary. Ensure the pulleys are clean and undamaged. Check the belt tension and adjust any tensioning mechanisms according to the manual's instructions.
