Ensure the generator is on a flat surface, check the fuel and oil levels, turn the fuel valve to the ON position, set the choke to the closed position, and pull the starter cord briskly.
Use unleaded gasoline with a minimum octane rating of 87. Avoid using gasoline with more than 10% ethanol content.
Change the oil after the first 20 hours of use, and then every 50 hours or every 6 months thereafter, whichever comes first.
Check the fuel and oil levels, ensure the spark plug is connected and clean, verify that the choke is set correctly, and inspect the air filter for blockages.
Ensure the generator is placed in a well-ventilated area, keep it clean from dust and debris, and do not overload the generator beyond its capacity.
Perform regular maintenance including checking oil levels before each use, cleaning or replacing the air filter every 50 hours, and inspecting the spark plug every 100 hours.
For long-term storage, empty the fuel tank, run the generator until it stops to clear the carburetor, and store it in a cool, dry place. Consider using a fuel stabilizer if fuel is left in the tank.
Ensure the fuel valve is in the OFF position, the generator is cool, and securely fasten it during transport to prevent tipping or damage.
Check for overloaded circuits, inspect the air filter and spark plug, and ensure the generator is not due for maintenance. Consider checking the fuel quality if the issue persists.
Remove the air filter cover, take out the air filter, wash it in soapy water, rinse thoroughly, allow it to dry completely, and reassemble. Replace if damaged.
