To install the pump, ensure it is placed on a stable, level surface. Connect the inlet and outlet hoses securely. Prime the pump by filling the inlet with water before connecting to the power supply. Ensure all connections are tight to prevent leaks.
If the pump fails to start, check the power supply and ensure the pump is properly plugged in. Inspect the fuse and replace it if blown. Verify that the motor is not overheated and allow it to cool down before restarting.
Regular maintenance should be performed every 3 months, including checking for leaks, inspecting seals, and cleaning the inlet filter. Lubricate moving parts as necessary and ensure the power cord is free from damage.
To prime the pump, disconnect the power and fill the inlet hose with water. Open any valves on the outlet side to allow air to escape. Once the water flows steadily, close the valves and reconnect the power supply.
Increase the lifespan by regularly cleaning the pump, ensuring it operates within its specified limits, and avoiding dry runs. Store it in a dry place when not in use and protect it from freezing temperatures.
If the pump is not self-priming, check for air leaks in the suction line and ensure the inlet hose is submerged. Inspect the pump's seal and impeller for damage or obstructions.
Unusual noises can be due to cavitation or debris in the impeller. Check for blockages in the inlet or outlet hose and ensure the pump is properly primed. Tighten any loose components.
To clean the inlet filter, disconnect the power and remove the filter from the pump. Rinse it thoroughly under running water to remove debris. Reinstall the filter and ensure it is seated properly before reconnecting the power.
The Clarke CPE120 pump is designed for cold water applications. Using hot water can damage the seals and internal components. Refer to the manufacturer's specifications for temperature limits.
When storing the pump, ensure it is clean and dry. Disconnect all hoses and drain any residual water. Store it in a cool, dry place protected from extreme temperatures and direct sunlight.
