Clarke 6500222 CDS2 Stand Instructions

Ensure the drill stand is placed on a flat, stable surface. Use the pre-drilled holes in the base to bolt it to a workbench or secure platform. This prevents movement during use.
First, adjust the column height and angle using the adjustment screws. Then, manually lower the drill head to position the bit precisely over the desired drilling location before starting the drill.
Use the depth stop adjustment located on the side of the drill stand. Adjust the stop to set the desired drilling depth, ensuring consistent hole depths.
Immediately turn off the drill. Gently reverse the direction if possible, or manually retract the drill bit. Avoid forcing the stand to prevent damage.
Regularly clean the stand to remove dust and debris. Lubricate moving parts such as the column and adjustment screws with light machine oil to prevent rust and ensure smooth operation.
Check for obstructions or debris on the column. Ensure all screws and bolts are tight. Lubricate the moving parts, and verify that the drill is securely mounted and aligned.
The stand is compatible with most standard drills. However, ensure the drill's collar diameter fits the stand's holder and that it is properly secured before use.
Turn off the drill and unplug it. Loosen the holder clamp and carefully slide the drill out of the stand. Store the drill and stand in a safe place to prevent damage.
Inspect the stand for any visible damage. Ensure all clamps and screws are tight, and verify the stand is securely mounted. Check that the drill bit is sharp and correctly fitted.
Ensure the stand is bolted to a stable surface. Balance the workpiece on the base, and avoid applying excessive lateral force during drilling.
