The Clarke 3120176 CAT162 Airline Lubricator Tool is designed to automatically lubricate air tools by introducing oil into the airline, enhancing the longevity and efficiency of the tools.
To install the Clarke CAT162, connect it between the compressor and the air tool. Ensure the arrow on the lubricator aligns with the airflow direction. Secure all connections tightly to prevent leaks.
Use a high-quality air tool oil specifically designed for pneumatic tools. Avoid using motor oils or other non-recommended lubricants.
Adjust the oil flow by turning the adjustment screw located at the top of the lubricator. Turn clockwise to decrease flow and counterclockwise to increase it. Check the manufacturer's manual for recommended settings.
First, ensure the lubricator is correctly installed with the proper airflow direction. Check for blockages in the oil feed line and clean if necessary. Verify that the adjustment screw is not fully closed.
Regularly check the oil level and refill as needed. Inspect the lubricator every 3 months for signs of wear or leaks and perform thorough cleaning annually.
It is not recommended to use the lubricator in freezing conditions as the oil can thicken, affecting performance. If necessary, use oil formulated for low temperatures.
Inspect and tighten all connections. If leakage persists, check for damaged seals or O-rings and replace them if necessary.
Disconnect from the airline, empty any remaining oil, and clean the interior with a suitable solvent. Allow it to dry completely before refilling with oil and reattaching.
Signs include persistent leaks, inability to adjust oil flow, or visible damage to the body. If performance issues persist after maintenance, consider replacing the unit.
