Begin by turning off and disconnecting the air supply. Mount the regulator securely in an upright position. Connect the air supply to the inlet port and the air tool to the outlet port. Ensure all connections are tight to prevent leaks.
The Clarke 3120175 CAT161 Air Filter Regulator Tool can handle a maximum air pressure of 150 PSI. Do not exceed this limit to avoid damage to the regulator.
Regular maintenance should be performed every three months. This includes checking for air leaks, ensuring the filter is clean, and confirming that the regulator is functioning correctly.
If the air pressure is not adjusting, check for blockages in the air line or filter. Ensure the adjustment knob is not damaged. If issues persist, consider replacing the diaphragm or contacting customer support.
To clean the filter, disconnect the air supply and unscrew the filter bowl. Remove the filter element and wash it with mild soap and water. Let it dry completely before reassembling.
The Clarke CAT161 is designed to remove particulates and moisture but not suitable for filtering oil-laden air. Use an oil-filtering regulator if oil removal is required.
Signs that the regulator may need replacing include persistent air leaks, a non-responsive adjustment knob, or a cracked filter bowl. Replace the unit if these issues cannot be resolved.
To adjust the output pressure, pull up the adjustment knob and turn it clockwise to increase pressure or counterclockwise to decrease it. Push the knob back down to lock the setting.
If the regulator is leaking air, check all connections and fittings for tightness. Inspect the O-rings and seals for damage, and replace them if necessary.
The Clarke CAT161 can be used outdoors but should be protected from direct exposure to harsh weather conditions to prolong its lifespan. Use a weatherproof enclosure if necessary.
