To load grease, unscrew the barrel from the head of the gun. Insert a grease cartridge into the barrel, ensuring that the open end of the cartridge is facing the head. Reattach the barrel and prime the gun by pumping the handle until grease begins to flow.
Check if the grease cartridge is empty. Ensure the nozzle is not clogged and the plunger rod is properly engaged. If the problem persists, check for air pockets and re-prime the gun.
Regularly clean the nozzle and wipe off any excess grease. Store the grease gun in a dry, cool place to prevent rust. Periodically check the seals and replace them if worn.
The Clarke 3120137 CAT125 Grease Gun is compatible with most standard greases. Refer to the tool and machine specifications you're servicing to ensure compatibility.
Some minor leakage can occur due to excess pressure. Ensure you're not over-pumping and that all connections are tight. If excessive leakage occurs, check for worn seals.
To release trapped air, slightly unscrew the barrel from the head to allow air to escape, then retighten. Pump the handle until grease flows smoothly.
After use, wipe down the exterior with a clean cloth. Remove any grease build-up in the nozzle with a suitable solvent or degreaser. Dry all parts thoroughly before storage.
The Clarke 3120137 CAT125 Grease Gun is designed for both home and light industrial use. For heavy-duty industrial applications, ensure it meets the pressure and volume requirements.
First, remove the barrel from the gun. Unscrew the plunger assembly and remove it. Replace it with a new plunger assembly, ensuring it is tightly secured before reattaching the barrel.
Inspect and lubricate the moving parts every few months, or more frequently if the gun is used extensively. Apply a light machine oil to maintain smooth operation.
