During the first 10 hours of operation, avoid aggressive acceleration and prolonged operation above half throttle. This helps ensure proper engine component wear-in.
It is recommended to change the oil every 100 hours of operation, or at least once a year, whichever comes first.
Use a 5W-40 synthetic oil that meets the API SM or SL service category requirements.
Check for low coolant levels, inspect the radiator for obstructions, ensure the cooling fan is operational, and verify that the thermostat is functioning properly.
The Can-Am Outlander 6x6 2021 has a towing capacity of up to 1,650 pounds (750 kg).
To check the battery, ensure the vehicle is off, remove the battery cover, and inspect the terminals for corrosion. Use a multimeter to measure the voltage; it should be around 12.6 volts when fully charged.
Verify the fuel level, check the battery charge and connections, inspect the ignition system, and ensure the kill switch is in the 'run' position.
Adjust the suspension by changing the preload on the shock absorbers. Use the adjustment ring located above the spring to increase or decrease preload according to the terrain.
Rinse the vehicle with low-pressure water to remove mud and debris. Avoid directing high-pressure water at electrical components. Use mild soap and a soft brush for stubborn dirt, and dry thoroughly to prevent corrosion.
Regularly inspect the drive belt for wear and cracks. Ensure the belt is properly tensioned and aligned. Replace the belt if it shows signs of excessive wear or damage.
