Perform regular maintenance every 10 hours of operation or at least once a month to ensure optimal performance and longevity of your Can-Am DS 70.
Use 4-stroke engine oil with a viscosity grade of 10W-40, ensuring it meets or exceeds the API service classification SG, SH, SJ, SL, or SM.
Check the battery charge, ensure the fuel valve is open, verify that the emergency stop switch is in the 'on' position, and inspect the spark plug condition.
The recommended tire pressure is 4 psi (27.6 kPa) for both the front and rear tires. Always check and adjust the pressure when tires are cold.
Loosen the rear axle nuts, adjust the chain tensioner bolts to achieve 1/2 inch of slack in the chain, and retighten the axle nuts securely.
Stop the vehicle immediately, allow the engine to cool down, check coolant levels, inspect for leaks, and ensure the radiator is not blocked or damaged.
Inspect the air filter every 10 hours of use and replace it every 50 hours, or more frequently if operating in dusty conditions.
For the first 10 hours, avoid full-throttle starts and hard stops, vary the engine speed, and do not maintain a constant speed for an extended period.
Remove the carburetor, disassemble it carefully, clean all parts with carburetor cleaner, and reassemble ensuring all parts are dry and properly fitted.
Check the tire pressure, oil level, brake function, throttle response, and ensure all controls are working properly before each ride.
