General maintenance, such as checking fluid levels, inspecting brakes, and tightening bolts, should be performed every 10 hours of operation or at least once a month.
The recommended engine oil for the Can-Am DS 250 2020 is 10W-40 4-stroke engine oil. Make sure it meets JASO MA specifications.
First, check the battery charge and connections. Ensure the fuel is fresh and the fuel valve is open. If the problem persists, inspect the spark plug and replace it if necessary.
The recommended tire pressure for the front tires is 5 psi and for the rear tires is 5 psi. Always check the pressure when the tires are cold.
Regularly clean and lubricate the chain with a suitable chain lubricant. Also, check the tension and adjust it to maintain 1/2 inch to 3/4 inch of slack.
If the vehicle overheats, stop immediately and turn off the engine. Check the coolant level and top it up if necessary. Inspect the radiator for obstructions and clean it.
Inspect the brake pads for wear and replace them if necessary. Adjust the brake lever free play to 10-20 mm by turning the adjuster located on the brake lever.
Clean the vehicle thoroughly, change the oil, fill the gas tank and add fuel stabilizer, and disconnect the battery. Store it in a dry place and cover it to protect from dust and moisture.
Remove the seat and unscrew the air filter cover. Take out the old filter, clean the housing, and insert a new filter. Reattach the cover and the seat.
Inspect the air filter for dirt and replace it if necessary. Check the spark plug for fouling and replace it if needed. Also, ensure the fuel is fresh and the fuel system is clean.
