It is recommended to change the oil every 50 hours of use or once a year, whichever comes first. Always check the oil level before each ride.
The Can-Am DS 250 is designed to run on regular unleaded gasoline with a minimum octane rating of 87.
If your DS 250 won't start, check the battery connections, ensure the fuel valve is open, and verify that the kill switch is in the 'run' position. Also, inspect the spark plug for wear and replace if necessary.
The recommended tire pressure for the Can-Am DS 250 is 4 psi for the front tires and 3.5 psi for the rear tires. Always check and adjust tire pressure when tires are cold.
Regularly clean the chain with a chain cleaner and lubricate it with a suitable chain lubricant every 5-10 hours of riding. Also, check and adjust the chain tension frequently.
Stop the vehicle immediately and let it cool down. Check the coolant level and refill if necessary. Inspect the radiator for obstructions and clean any debris. If the problem persists, consult a professional mechanic.
The DS 250 features adjustable preload on the front shocks. Use a spanner wrench to adjust the preload to your desired setting. Check the owner's manual for specific instructions and recommended settings.
Common electrical issues include blown fuses and loose connections. First, inspect and replace any blown fuses. Check the wiring for loose or corroded connections and tighten or clean as needed.
Performance can be improved by upgrading the exhaust system, installing a high-performance air filter, and ensuring regular maintenance such as timely oil changes and clean spark plugs.
For off-season storage, clean the vehicle thoroughly, change the oil, stabilize the fuel, and disconnect the battery. Store it in a dry place and cover it to protect against dust and moisture.
