To thread your Brother LS-2125, first lift the presser foot lever, then raise the needle to its highest position. Place the spool of thread on the spool pin, and follow the threading path as indicated on the machine, ensuring the thread passes through the tension disc and the take-up lever. Finally, thread the needle from front to back.
Ensure the presser foot is lowered and check that the feed dogs are not lowered for darning. Make sure the stitch length is set appropriately and that the fabric is not too heavy or light for the selected settings. Consider cleaning the feed dogs to remove any lint build-up.
Frequent needle breakage can be caused by using the wrong needle type or size for your fabric, incorrect threading, or improper tension settings. Ensure the needle is inserted correctly and is not bent or damaged. Check for any obstructions in the needle path.
Use the tension control dial on the front of the machine to adjust tension. For balanced stitches, the upper and lower threads should lock in the middle of the fabric. If the upper thread is visible on the bottom, increase the tension. If the bobbin thread is visible on top, decrease the tension.
Regular maintenance includes cleaning the bobbin case area to remove lint, changing the needle regularly, and oiling the machine as recommended in the user manual. Ensure the machine is unplugged during maintenance.
Raise the presser foot lifter and turn the handwheel to raise the needle to its highest position. Press the presser foot release lever to detach the foot. Position the new foot under the holder and lower the presser foot lifter to attach it.
Skipped stitches can be caused by a dull or bent needle, incorrect needle size or type, or improper threading. Re-thread the machine, replace the needle, and ensure it is inserted correctly. Check fabric compatibility with the needle and thread.
Ensure the bobbin is correctly placed on the winder spindle and the thread is properly threaded through the tension disc. Make sure the bobbin winder is engaged and that you are using the correct bobbin for the machine.
Unusual noises may be due to loose screws, lint build-up, or incorrect threading. Turn off the machine and inspect it for any loose parts or obstructions. Clean the machine and re-thread it, ensuring all parts are secured.
Install the buttonhole foot and select the buttonhole stitch. Place the fabric under the foot and lower the presser foot. Follow the buttonhole guide on the machine, turning the fabric as needed to complete the buttonhole. Use the buttonhole cutter to open the buttonhole.
