To thread the Brother CE1000, raise the presser foot and turn the handwheel to raise the needle. Place the spool on the spool pin, guide the thread through the thread guide, and follow the threading path indicated on the machine. Pull the thread through the needle eye from front to back.
Skipped stitches can occur if the needle is bent or dull. Replace the needle with a new one appropriate for the fabric being sewn. Ensure the needle is inserted correctly and fully into the needle clamp.
Turn off the machine and remove the presser foot and needle. Open the bobbin case cover and remove the bobbin. Use a small brush to remove lint and debris from the bobbin area and the feed dogs. Replace the bobbin and cover.
Thread bunching can indicate incorrect threading or tension settings. Re-thread the machine, ensuring the presser foot is raised during threading. Check the upper thread tension and adjust as needed.
Raise the presser foot lever and turn off the machine. Press the presser foot release lever to remove the current foot. Align the new foot with the presser foot holder and lower the presser foot lever to attach it.
Regularly clean the machine, especially the bobbin area and feed dogs. Oil the machine as specified in the user manual. Check for loose screws and tighten if necessary. Have the machine serviced by a professional annually.
To adjust the stitch length, use the stitch length dial located on the machine. Turn the dial to select the desired stitch length, which can range from shorter stitches for finer seams to longer stitches for basting.
Ensure the needle is at its highest position and that the needle is compatible with the threader. Check if the needle is bent and replace it if necessary. Follow the needle threader instructions carefully to avoid damage.
Attach the buttonhole foot and select the buttonhole stitch. Place the button in the foot's holder to set the size. Lower the presser foot and sew the buttonhole in the desired location on the fabric, following the machine's stitching order.
Turn off the machine and check for tangled thread or debris in the bobbin area. Ensure the needle is correctly installed and not bent. If noises persist, consult the user manual or a professional technician.
