To assemble the Breville VBL136, first attach the blade assembly to the jug by aligning the arrows and twisting it clockwise. Then, place the jug onto the motor base and twist it to lock into place. Ensure all components are securely fitted before use.
If the blender won't start, check that it is properly plugged into a working outlet. Ensure that the jug is correctly positioned on the base and that the lid is securely in place, as the safety features may prevent operation otherwise.
Disassemble the blender and wash the jug, lid, and blade assembly in warm, soapy water. Rinse and dry thoroughly. The jug and lid, but not the blade assembly, are top-rack dishwasher safe. Wipe the motor base with a damp cloth.
To maintain blade sharpness, avoid blending hard items like ice without sufficient liquid. Clean the blades immediately after use to prevent residue build-up. Periodically check the blades for wear and replace if necessary.
To reduce noise, ensure the blender is on a stable, flat surface. You can also place a silicone mat under the blender to absorb vibration. Avoid overloading the jug, as this can increase noise levels.
If leaking occurs, check that the blade assembly is tightly secured to the jug. Ensure the lid is properly sealed. Inspect the gasket for damage and replace if necessary. Avoid overfilling the jug beyond the max fill line.
When blending hot liquids, allow them to cool slightly first. Fill the jug no more than halfway and start blending at a low speed, gradually increasing. Ensure the lid is vented to release steam and avoid pressure build-up.
A burning smell may indicate the motor is overheating. Turn off the blender immediately and allow it to cool. Check for overloading or blending for too long. If the issue persists, inspect the motor and blade assembly for obstructions or damage.
Use lower speeds for soft fruits and vegetables, and higher speeds for tougher items like ice or fibrous vegetables. Start with a low speed and gradually increase to prevent splashing and ensure smooth blending.
The Breville VBL136 is primarily designed for blending liquids and soft ingredients. Using it for dry grinding or chopping may damage the blades or motor. It's recommended to use a dedicated grinder for dry ingredients.
