Regularly clean and lubricate the chain every 500-1000 miles, depending on riding conditions. Use a high-quality chain lubricant and ensure the tension is within the manufacturer's specifications.
The recommended tire pressure is 36 psi for the front tire and 42 psi for the rear tire. Always check the pressure when the tires are cold.
First, check the battery connections and ensure they are tight. Verify the battery charge level and inspect the fuses. If the issue persists, consult a BMW service center.
Stop the motorcycle in a safe location, turn off the engine, and allow it to cool. Check the coolant level and inspect for leaks. If necessary, add coolant and consult a mechanic if the problem continues.
Use the electronic suspension adjustment system to modify the settings. Refer to the owner's manual for specific instructions and recommended settings based on your riding style and load.
Listen for squeaking or grinding noises and check for reduced braking performance. Inspect the brake pad thickness visually; if it's less than 2mm, replacement is necessary.
Store the motorcycle in a dry, sheltered area. Use a motorcycle cover, fill the fuel tank, and add a fuel stabilizer. Disconnect the battery and keep it on a trickle charger.
Check tire pressure and tread depth, inspect brake pads and fluid levels, ensure lights and signals are functioning, and verify that the chain is properly lubricated and tensioned.
To reset the service light, you will need a BMW diagnostic tool or visit a BMW service center, as it requires specific software to perform the reset.
BMW recommends using a high-quality 5W-40 synthetic motorcycle oil that meets API SL/JASO MA2 specifications for optimal engine performance and protection.
