During the first 600 miles, vary your speed and avoid constant RPMs. Gradually increase the engine speed and avoid full throttle to ensure proper engine break-in.
Check the battery charge and connections, ensure the kill switch is set to 'Run', verify fuel levels, and inspect the ignition fuse. If the issue persists, consult a BMW service center.
The 600-mile service includes an oil and filter change, checking and adjusting the valve clearance, inspecting the brake system, and checking all fluid levels.
Use the electronic suspension adjustment (ESA) system. You can select different modes like 'Road' or 'Dynamic' to suit your ride preference and load conditions.
For solo riding, maintain 36 psi in the front tire and 42 psi in the rear tire. Adjust according to load and riding conditions as specified in the owner's manual.
Clean and lubricate the chain every 500 miles or more frequently if riding in wet or dusty conditions. Use a high-quality motorcycle chain lubricant.
The service indicator can be reset using the BMW Motorrad diagnostic tool at an authorized dealership. It’s recommended to have a professional perform the reset.
Maintain proper tire pressure, use high-quality fuel, keep up with regular maintenance, and avoid aggressive acceleration to improve fuel efficiency.
Check for correct tire pressure, ensure wheel alignment, and inspect for any loose fasteners or components. If the problem persists, consult a BMW technician.
Clean the motorcycle thoroughly, add a fuel stabilizer, charge and disconnect the battery, and cover it with a breathable cover. Store in a dry place away from direct sunlight.
