To reset the service light, you will need a diagnostic tool like the GS-911. Connect it to the bike's diagnostic port, access the service functions, and follow the prompts to reset the service indicator.
The recommended tire pressure is 36 psi for the front tire and 42 psi for the rear tire when riding with a passenger or luggage. For solo riding, you may adjust slightly based on comfort and handling preferences.
It is recommended to change the oil every 6,000 miles or 12 months, whichever comes first. Always use the oil type specified in the owner's manual.
Use a high-quality ethylene glycol-based antifreeze and coolant with corrosion inhibitors suitable for aluminum engines, mixed with distilled water in a 50:50 ratio.
To adjust the suspension, locate the preload adjuster on the rear shock for basic adjustments. For the front forks, use the adjusters located on the top of each fork leg. Refer to the owner's manual for specific settings based on riding conditions and load.
Check the battery charge and connections first. Ensure the kill switch is in the 'run' position and that the bike is in neutral. If it still doesn't start, inspect the fuses and consider having the fuel system checked.
To improve fuel efficiency, maintain proper tire pressure, ensure regular servicing, and avoid aggressive acceleration. Riding at a steady speed and reducing excess weight can also help.
Remove the air filter cover, take out the air filter, and use compressed air to blow out dirt and debris. If the filter is heavily soiled or damaged, replace it with a new one.
Locate the brake fluid reservoir on the handlebars for the front brake and near the rear wheel for the rear brake. Ensure the fluid is between the 'min' and 'max' marks. Refill with DOT 4 brake fluid if necessary.
Regular maintenance should include oil and filter changes, checking and lubricating the chain, inspecting brake pads and fluid, checking tire condition and pressure, and ensuring all lights and electronics are functioning properly. Follow the service schedule in the owner's manual.
