BMW F 800 R 2011 Rider's Manual

It is recommended to change the oil every 6,000 miles (10,000 km) or once a year, whichever comes first. Use a high-quality 15W-50 synthetic motorcycle oil.
The recommended tire pressure for the BMW F 800 R 2011 is 36 psi (2.5 bar) for the front tire and 42 psi (2.9 bar) for the rear tire.
To adjust the suspension, use the preload adjuster to set the sag according to your weight. The front fork can be adjusted using the adjustment screws on top of the fork tubes, while the rear shock absorber can be adjusted using the preload ring.
Use a high-quality ethylene glycol-based coolant with corrosion inhibitors, specifically designed for aluminum engines. Ensure it is mixed with distilled water in a 50:50 ratio.
First, check the battery to ensure it is fully charged. Examine the fuses and the condition of the starter motor. If the bike still does not start, inspect the fuel system and spark plugs for any issues.
Regularly clean and lubricate the chain every 500 miles (800 km) or after riding in wet conditions. Check the chain tension and adjust it to maintain a slack of 30-40 mm.
To improve fuel efficiency, ensure your tires are properly inflated, maintain a steady speed, avoid rapid acceleration and braking, and keep up with regular maintenance such as oil changes and air filter replacements.
If the ABS warning light remains on, it might indicate a malfunction in the ABS system. Check the ABS sensor and wiring for damage and ensure the wheel speed sensors are clean. If the issue persists, consult a professional mechanic.
To replace the air filter, remove the seat and the tank cover. Unscrew the air filter housing and replace the old filter with a new one. Ensure all components are securely reinstalled.
During a pre-ride inspection, check the tire pressure and tread, ensure brakes and lights are functioning, inspect the fluid levels, examine the chain tension, and ensure there are no leaks or loose parts.
